Another Week

Not much to report. I am working at maintaining right now because I have pretty much made it to my goal weight give or take a pound. It is nice to finally get there. Now I am ready to do some running this next week. I have been out of town and it is difficult with 5 kids to get away for a run (and I do not get out of bed before 7 for any reason), so I have spent this week mainly on cardio and strength which has been a nice change, but after a week without running, I am ready to get back to it. I just don't enjoy anything quite as much as I enjoy just totally zoning out and running any frustrations out. Anyway, hope everyone has a fantastic week!!!!

Rant

So far I have had a great week weight loss wise. which is good, because that means that I have overcome stress eating. It has been a stressful couple of weeks with my husband having left on deployment and how hard it has been on the kids. Instead of eating, I just take my frustrations out on zombies in video game :) Hope that everyone has a great week.

Another Week

I don't really have much to say this week. The weather has been fantastic. We actually hit 60 degrees today and the last of the snow melted from my yard. That was a real accomplishment. Of course it is suppose to snow again tomorrow and Saturday with an accumulation of another 6 inches. I just don't think it ever ends in this state. Such is life, soon I will be back outside running instead of on an indoor track or treadmill, so hooray for that. Of course that also means pushing 70 pounds worth of kids and the stroller :) Good times. Anyway thats about it for today.

This week

So, I know I am a few days late with my post. Why is it times seems to go by so fast when you don't want it to, but when you wish it would hurry up it just creeps by? So anyway this has been a busy week and it has flown by. My husband leaves for the Middle East tomorrow so our days have been filled with getting him packed, all of the stupid military briefings that he has and even one for me, and overly emotional kids. We got to go to the zoo for one last fun outing before Daddy has to leave, and had a great time, it is finally starting to warm up here and I can see most of my yard. I do still have a few pretty frozen patches of snow. I actually got to go run outside for the first time in about 4 months. It will still be a little while before I get to do that consistently since it is still to cold to have my two youngest out there with me, but hopefully by the beginning of the month we will be able to do that. I am sure my pace will suffer since I will be pushing about 80 pounds worth of kids, not including the weight of the stroller that really only counts when I am going uphill. I am so excited for spring!!!! Anyway hope that everyone has a great week!!!

A Few Days Before Weigh in

So I haven't done much this month. I will have a loss, but it will be a small one, which I am OK with. My goal most of this month, or at least the last 2 weeks has just been to maintain, which I have successfully done. So that has been nice. I still have a few more pounds I would like to get off, but I figure I will wait until my husband leaves for his deployment, which will be in about 10 days. I was looking through my pictures today, and came across one from my birthday this past year, which was right before I started to lose weight, and even though the picture is only from the top half, I was surprised at the difference. Through out this whole process, I haven't been able to really see a difference in myself. I know that the weight has obviously gone somewhere since I certainly can't wear the same clothes anymore, but to me when I just look at myself, I look the same. Part of it might be the way I carry the weight, but looking back at those pictures, I was surprised what a difference 55 pounds makes. I mean, I know when you think about it, that seems like a pretty significant amount of weight, but while I have been losing, it really hasn't seemed like a big deal. I know I have changed a lot about my eating habits, one of the things I had to do was actually eat more, when I started this whole thing and started counting up my calories, I was surprised to see that except for weekends, I was eating less than 1000 calories, the biggest change I have made, is to up my calorie intake to 1600 calories and keep it there consistently. Funny thing for me (not funny ha ha but ironically) is that if my calories drop to 1300, I start to gain again. So I have to make sure that I get my calories, because I have a bad habit of not eating breakfast or lunch, and getting my meals has been incredibly helpful for me and for the energy I need to exercise. I haven't changed my exercise habits at all, and I don't intend to. I just found out about a triathlon that the base here is having, so I am thinking about maybe doing that. It is the week before my half that I always run, so it will mean training for both at the same time. We will have to see how that goes, but I would love to do one. Since I can't train for a full marathon this year, that would be a nice compromise. Anyway, enough rambling. Hope that everyone has a great rest of the week and a fantastic weigh in!!!!!

This Week

So not a whole lot going on for me this week. I did read the challenge this week and think it is a pretty good one. I haven't really done any of the other challenges. I take that back, I kind of did the goal evaluation one, I didn't write anything down, but I did take a few minutes to think about what my goals are, since being within about 3 pounds of my goal weight, that means that they are changing a little. I know that to maintain my weight, I am not going to change anything about my workouts, I will continue with my running 5 miles 4-5 days a week and either run that 5th day, or go to this amazing water aerobics class that they have here on base. I also know that my eating habits are going to have to stay pretty much the same. I have slightly upped the amount of calories that I am consuming, not by a lot, just by about 300 calories a day, and that seems to be a good place for me. I did not do the sugar challenge because lets face it, I don't have a problem with eating sugar, I don't eat it in excess, but I decided when I first started doing these competitions, that it wasn't something I was going to give up. My goal with that was to strike a balance with my eating habits. When my kids have a birthday, I am going to eat a piece of cake. Of course I know exactly how many servings the cake makes, and I do limit myself to a piece, but I am not willing to sacrifice the little things like that. I just try to keep it in moderation. I did work on my posture for that challenge. Since we got our Wii fit last year and I do have fun playing some of the games on there, it focuses on your posture quite a bit, so I had been trying to keep that in the back of my mind lately. I like these little challenges, it is nice to have a little mini goal to focus on during the week. I like this fitness one, but I'm not really sure whether I am going to do too much with it. I already work out 5 days a week, I do cardio all 5 days, and I do some weights 3 days a week and spend 1.5 hours at the gym each day, so realistically I don't have a whole lot more time that I can spend there, and I am not sacrificing any of my cardio workouts. Training starts in about a month and a half, so I need to keep my running habits right where they are. Karilynn, I think that these challenges are an absolutely fantastic idea. Well I better get my kids up and ready for school. Hope everyone has a great week!!!!!!!
