I know that we are suppose to update our blogs once a week. I don't really know what to say. I have been trying to watch what I eat, keep my calories around 1800-1900 and make those calories healthy. I know that I need to keep a food journal, but have been having a hard time getting started. I just never remember until halfway through the day, but I have decided that today is the day. Who would have ever thought that you could be so busy just being a stay at home mom, and I only have 1 of my kids still home. I thought that once they went back to school, that I would have a little bit of time, but I really haven't. I have been very faithful about exercising. I have been running about 20-22 miles a week, and aerobics 2 hours a week, and an hour of
cross training, for the past 3 weeks, so far no results. My body must hate me or something!!!!! ;-) Anyway, hopefully with weighing in once a month I will be able to see some results that are part of a bigger picture. Hope everyone has a great week!!!!

One frustrating thing about weight loss is that if you are NOT eating appropriately, the amount of exercise you do WON'T show the hard work. A food journal is a must. There is a great website. www.livestrong.com where you can keep track of your calories. It has a HUGE database so in general, you can find anything you've eaten just by typing in the name of it! :o)
Wow. That is a TON of miles! Keep up the great work, but don't forget to EAT the calories you are burning off! Read Mindy's blog on getting enough calories to keep your body going each day. It is very informative. Keep up the GREAT work!
Awesome on the miles!! and the running, i couldn't even begin to do that. I'm with ya on the food diary thing, it's hard to take the time to do it, even on livestrong. I do like the website though, and i actually did find somehting that was not on there, and they have an option where you can put the product in yourself and it will add it to their database. Very cool! Keep up the good work and work on that diary.
Well it sounds like you are doing what you need to! That's awesome all the exercise you are getting! Good things come to those who wait, right?!
I am a runner too. I ran a full marathon after my first baby, and have run two half marathons... one just last June. I have never been small, but I have always been able to go farther and faster than most people. I learned during the last competition that for me eating was EVERYTHING. I always ran so I could eat... and maintained or slowly gained because I wasn't paying attention to the fact that the 4 pieces of toast I had with cocoa could possibly be 400 calories... once I wrote stuff down and realized the truth about my calorie intake and started limiting it... I started losing weight... regardless of how many miles I was running.
What Marathon are you planning on running?
so are you going to chase buffalos forever or are you going to catch one eventually - just wondering. I think your problem is that you don't run fast enough so they all get away! lol Let me know how that website works!
I am running here in Omaha in a little over 2 weeks, and than I am planning on the Lincoln one in March, and considering one in Council Bluffs possibly in July, but we will have to see how that goes. I am hoping to be ready to train for a full for Omaha next year. Mom, of course I don't run fast enough to catch them, that is why I am still chasing them. My pace is not good, but such is life. I do like that website, but I found that most of the week, I am eating only about 1100 calories, on the weekends, I am sure it is more. I am trying to add more veggies, and a little more protein and see how the scale looks next week.
